Tangent Design Labs, along with Twisted Media has wrapped up production on the 2nd season of Electric Entertainment’s Leverage, a smart, funny, high-tech spy drama produced by Dean Devlin and starring Timothy Hutton. The 2nd season has opened to high praise and record audience numbers. Computers, smartphones, spy gadgets and set elements all get top notch design, animation, compositing and interactive programming from the Tangent/Twisted team.

Looking for a team to design high-tech computer interfaces and spy gadgetry, Mark Franco (visual effects producer) and Lauren Crasco (production designer) hired Twisted Media to do graphic and interactive design work and visual effects for Electric Entertainment’s ‘Leverage’, a television series that premiered December 2008 on TNT. A perfect fit…the team’s expertise in a variety of media came in handy during an intense, tight production schedule. The pilot was shot in Chicago during the fall of 07; was greenlighted by TNT in Spring ’08 and series production went from June through November. Some highlights of the numerous deliverables created:

  • Computer screen design and interactive programming
  • iPhone, Smartphone, PDA & mini-computer on-screen design & programming
  • Multiple monitor setups, video walls and projection setups
  • Touchscreens and interactive set pieces

The series premiere was the most viewed pilot in the staton’s history. The season has enjoyed a solid viewership since, and was renewed for a second season in January 2009. A preview and more information can be found on TNT’s website.
